The fountain uses a replaceable charcoal filter to help keep the circulating water clean and fresh.

Before installation, simply rinse the filter with cold water to remove loose charcoal, then place it into the fountain. Depending on how many animals use the fountain, the supplied instructions recommend changing the filter 1–2 times per month.

Pump maintenance is equally straightforward:

2. Disassemble the pump and rinse the turbine under water.

3. Remove accumulated hair or debris from inside the pump.

4. Replace the wheel and rotate it several times to align it.

5. Reassemble the fountain.

Cleaning is recommended 1–3 times per month depending on the number of animals using it.
